Xandros Desktop OS Soon in German and French

French and German Beta Testers Wanted for Finishing Touches on Localized Versions of Windows Desktop Alternative

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 06/15/05 -- Xandros, the leading developer of easy-to-use Linux alternatives to Windows, today announced upcoming localized editions of the Xandros Desktop OS (Operating System). Created in response to pent-up demand, the French and German editions are slated for release in the fall of 2005. German and French beta testers* are needed to help put the finishing touches on the Windows desktop alternative.

German and French editions of the Xandros Desktop OS will have all the features of their English counterparts, providing a secure, stable alternative to costly Windows desktops. Products include a Business Edition which seamlessly integrates into Windows-centric networks with domain authentication support for Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers, logon scripts, and group policy profiles. Other enterprise-class features include:

Xandros Anti-Virus, the Xandros Firewall Wizard, encrypted home folders, and secure access to virtual private networks eliminate many of the security issues associated with Windows. Usability features include a familiar graphical interface and drag and drop DVD burning, making the migration from Windows to Linux simple and easy.
