Hara, the company dedicated to helping organizations grow and profit
without depleting the earth’s resources, today confirmed that CEO Amit
Chatterjee met with President Obama at the White House this afternoon.
Chatterjee, along with leaders from other innovative energy companies
including Applied Materials, Cree Lighting, Dow Corning, FPL Group,
Hycrete, Positive Energy and Standard Renewable Energy, met with
President Obama to discuss energy and environmental policy, and to share
thoughts on how companies can cut energy costs and emissions while
creating jobs and maximizing profits. They were joined in the Roosevelt
Room by several members of the President's senior staff as well as
Energy Secretary Steven Chu and EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson.
During the meeting, Chatterjee shared his views on the post-carbon
economy, the emerging world where carbon is priced, creating new
implications for the health and success of organizations. Hara believes
that companies and government organizations can be successful in this
new era, leading to job retention and creation and significant
operational and energy efficiencies, when they understand and
proactively manage their natural resource consumption and the
implications of their organization’s environmental footprint.
“It was an honor to be among the select few invited here today to speak
with President Obama about business opportunities for job creation and
energy efficiency, all while still minimizing environmental impact,”
said Chatterjee. “Hara helps organizations grow and profit by
establishing business processes and leveraging best practices for
environmental and energy management, leading to a reduction in energy
costs and emissions, rather than jobs.”
President Obama commented on his meeting: “I just held a meeting with
the CEOs of some of the most innovative energy companies in America to
talk about growth and progress of a sector that represents a big piece
of America's economic future.”
He continued, “These are folks whose companies are helping to lead the
transformation towards a clean energy future. Even as we face tough
economic times, even as we continue to lose jobs, the CEOs here told me
that they're looking to hire new people, in some cases to double or even
triple in size over the next few years. They are making money and they
are helping their customers save money on the energy front.”
Asked about the message to small businesses, President Obama remarked,
“Small businesses should probably contact some of these CEOs because it
turns out they can save small businesses and large businesses alike up
to 20 or 30 percent on their energy usage.”
