We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.
I've been a Drupal sponge these past few months trying to answer a very fundamental question: How does Drupal benefit small business? To find the answer I've been absorbing everything I can about Drupal by attending conferences, talking about it online, and learning from other companies that have been working with it for a while. As a part of finding the answer, I've been watching most of the Lullabot training videos that Chris Bloom brought home from the 2009 Drupal Camp Colorado (he won the raffle). Lullabot also puts out a free video that has helped me clarify what Drupal really is. Check it out:
Also, I just got back from the 2009 LA Drupal Camp and gained some insight into how exactly Drupal is helpful for small business. Being one of a surprisingly large (and growing) crowd of "business guys" that are attending these camps and conferences, I was able to have a lot of conversations with professional companies about the value of Drupal. After getting my bearings the first day, I set out to find out how I can present what Drupal is and how it benefits my clients and other small businesses.
I'm planning on posting about some of these discussions, but I really need some more info. Does anyone have any insight on how I can answer this question?
