LOS ANGELES, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- After speaking at almost 60 events this year in Europe, the Pacific, and Asia, Prem Rawat, widely known as Maharaji, began a tour of North America in August, bringing his message of peace to enthusiastic audiences.
More than 9,000 people heard Prem Rawat speak in eight cities across America: Sacramento and Santa Cruz in California; Medford, Oregon; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Las Vegas, Nevada; Boulder, Colorado; Asheville, North Carolina; and Miami, Florida.
His illustrations varied, but his core message was the same. He spoke about the basic questions that people have always wondered about and the importance of finding an actual experience of fulfillment in life as opposed to just having beliefs.
"Do you realize that in this day and age, whether it is the world wide web or books, there is more information around than you can possibly imagine? But with all the books there are, people still ask the same questions: 'Why am I here?' and 'What is the purpose of my life?'
"As a human being," he said, "there are certain things that matter to you the most. And one of the things that matters to you the most is being fulfilled." He continued, "The good news is whatever you are looking for is within you."
In Albuquerque, Sara Sorensen, 23, said, "Every time I come to an event, I experience something different. After listening to him, I am often left speechless." Lydia Allan agreed. "Personally," she said, "this whole experience seems life-changing. So much of what Maharaji spoke of rings so true to me."
Brenda Johnson, from Alberta, Canada, attended many events on this North American tour. "I love how he can inspire me," she said. "He's put me in touch with the honor and dignity of my own life."
More than 12 million people have come to hear the message of peace of Prem Rawat. This message is now made available in more than 90 countries and 70 languages. He founded The Prem Rawat Foundation, which promotes his message of peace and spearheads significant humanitarian initiatives around the world.
