Drool, Britannia? Is the UK Failing the Cloud?
By Roger Strukhoff
Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

The Guest Account Incompatibility Issues in Snow Leopard
Mac Recovery Software

By: Jonny Defh
Oct. 26, 2009 10:51 AM

A significant bug in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard could affect you, if you have upgraded from Mac OS X Leopard to Mac OS X Snow Leopard with guest account enabled. This bug, although difficult to reproduce, could result into irretrievable loss of user account after using the guest account. When this problem occurs, you need to restore data from backup. In case if backup is not available, go for Mac Data Recovery solutions using appropriate tools.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard has a problem with how the guest accounts are tackled on systems, which have guest account enabled before upgrading from Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.  If you have accidentally logged into your guest account and upon logging out and back into your normal accounts have found your data missing.

After you upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, some issues with the account configuration could result into clearance or damage to the existing user accounts. All the accounts are reset when you reset the guest account. It causes critical data loss and require Data Recovery Mac to be sorted out.

It has been observed that this problem has not occurred so far to the system that has guest account enabled after upgrading to Snow Leopard. As such, this is a preventative step to disable the log in ability of guest account and re-create the account so the Snow Leopard could set up instead of keeping the account configuration that Leopard set up.

Furthermore, if you don't need guest account, you can just disable it. For handling lost home folder issue, you would need to have complete backup of your data. Immediately restore your system from current backup. Unavailability of backup cause critical problems and require recovery through commercial tools.

There are several third-party applications, which methodically scan the affected Mac hard drive using high-end scanning techniques and recover all of the lost data from it. They are known as Mac Recovery Software.

You can perform smooth and easy recovery on your own as they have interactive and simple graphical user interface. The Mac File Recovery applications do not even require sound and prior technical skills from your side. The tools are completely safe to use as they have read only and non destructive conduct.

Stellar Phoenix Macintosh Data Recovery is the most effective solution for all your Mac data loss problems. It supports recovery from all HFS, HFS+, HFSX, HFS Wrapper and FAT file system volumes. The software is designed for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, 10.5 Leopard, 10.4 Tiger and 10.3.9 Panther.
