As the company transitions to be a multi-platform player, the feeling is to have management who are experts about software, the converged infrastructure market, and familiar with the players in the space. Ergo the new CEO, and ergo the new levels of backing from investors. The company is still hiring in its field and OEM spaces, and in conversations with multiple IHV partners.
Jupiter Systems, the industry leader in display wall technology and an
early investor in China, today announced record 2009 sales of its Fusion
and PixelNet display wall processors in that country. Jupiter products
are used in command and control visualization and across industries
including airport transportation, railways, seaports and highway traffic
management, water, power, public security, mining, telecommunications,
broadcast, finance and enterprise markets.
“Jupiter Systems’ strong growth can be attributed to many factors,” said
Brady O. Bruce, VP of Marketing and Strategic Alliances. “Record Chinese
investment in infrastructure, from highways to airports, power
generation and distribution, mining, industry and security, have helped
fuel the country’s strong economic growth, as have the energy and
enterprise of its people. These factors, combined with Jupiter Systems’
own early investment in China, a fully-owned subsidiary with full
manufacturing capability, a strong base of Chinese partners, and the
industry’s highest quality, most reliable, high performance products,
have made Jupiter well positioned for growth.”
“Last year, our Jupiter Systems China subsidiary experienced substantial
growth,” said Chuck Kelley, Chairman of Jupiter Systems China. “This
year, we expect China to grow dramatically, once again delivering the
second largest single county contribution to Jupiter’s global revenues.”
“Jupiter’s high performance display wall processors are central to many
of China’s largest installations,” said Guomin Zhang, General Manager of
Jupiter Systems China. “Jupiter installations in China include the
Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau (a wall comprised of 56
individual displays, originally serving as the Security Command Centre
for the 2008 Summer Olympics); the Beijing Traffic Management Bureau (a
large display wall of 16 x 7 or 112 displays built originally for the
2008 Summer Olympics); the State Department Emergency Command Office
(headquarters for all Emergency Command Centers in China); the
South-to-North Water Diversion project (China’s ambitious project to
divert water from its longest river, the Yangtze, to North China);
Beijing Capital International Airport Terminal 3 (the world’s largest
airport building covering more than one million square meters); and many
others.
“Customers initially look for the lowest price,” says Zhang. “But
whether they are very large or very small concerns, what they really
want is a display wall controller they can rely on. In the past two
years, we have built demand for Jupiter controllers by demonstrating
them to be best-of-breed for reliability, quality and performance. Our
credibility in this regard has enabled us to grow beyond our most
aggressive projections. Working together with our partners, systems
integrators and video display manufacturers, we believe that Jupiter
will continue to be the leading supplier in China.”
