Drool, Britannia? Is the UK Failing the Cloud?
By Roger Strukhoff
Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Developer Days 2010 will be held May 24th & 25th in San Francisco Bay Area

DANVILLE, Calif., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The OpenSAF Foundation, an association of leading communications and computing companies, today announced it will sponsor Developer Days 2010 for the OpenSAF and high-availability middleware community.

Building on the success of Developer Days 2008 and 2009 the OpenSAF project will hold the third Developer Days conference in conjunction with the General Availability release of version 4 of OpenSAF. Developer Days 2010 is a two day event open to all interested parties and will be held on May 24th and 25th in the San Francisco bay area. There is no cost to register and attend the event. Specific venue and program details will be announced in December. Individuals interested in attending should mark their calendars and complete the online registration. Program details, visa information and detailed logistics will be announced shortly and posted at http://www.opensaf.org and emailed to all registrants.

OpenSAF 2010 Developer Days will feature sessions and discussions led by technologists and architects from the industry. These sessions will facilitate the exchange of ideas on the implementation of high availability middleware, the OpenSAF architecture and project roadmap, the sharing of experiences with community experts and details on joining or contributing to the project. The event is aimed at developers who are interested in obtaining a general overview of the OpenSAF project architecture and code base as well as developers and experts seeking detailed and practical exposure to the OpenSAF software and the development of OpenSAF-based highly available applications.

Please mark your calendar now and stay tuned for more details.
