As the company transitions to be a multi-platform player, the feeling is to have management who are experts about software, the converged infrastructure market, and familiar with the players in the space. Ergo the new CEO, and ergo the new levels of backing from investors. The company is still hiring in its field and OEM spaces, and in conversations with multiple IHV partners.
Lucid Design Group, Inc. today announced it is broadening its target
market through a reseller program that will enable qualified commercial
building energy efficiency service providers to offer their customers
Building Dashboard®, Lucid’s award-winning real-time energy monitoring
and display product for commercial buildings.
“Building Dashboard has generated tremendous enthusiasm on college
campuses across the U.S. by showing students, faculty and administration
how energy is being used, and inspiring competitions and other
activities to drive down costs and carbon emissions,” said Michael
Murray, Lucid’s CEO. “As demand for Building Dashboard in commercial
buildings continues to grow, the Building Dashboard Reseller Program
will enable us to expand Lucid’s offering even further.”
Murray said Building Dashboard will be offered via resellers to large
companies, public buildings, K-12 schools, and other facilities where
there is increasing scrutiny on energy spending.
Building Dashboard provides a simple and intuitive web-based display
with real-time feedback on resource use. The information is updated
every 60 seconds and can be viewed over the web. Comparisons can be made
by the hour, day, week, month or year. Usage can be expressed in energy
units, cost, carbon emissions or other measurements. Interactive touch
screens can be placed in public areas for users to explore where and how
energy is being used.
As energy savings programs are introduced by facilities managers,
Building Dashboard can facilitate energy reductions by enhancing
monitoring and verification of building systems, and by empowering
building occupants to change their behavior.
Founded in 2004, Lucid Design Group has demonstrated strong success and
momentum in the college and university market, where it is the leader in
real-time energy displays. Building Dashboard can be found today in more
than 250 buildings on scores of college campuses and companies across
the U.S., with more being added each month.
The Building Dashboard® Reseller Program enables third parties to offer
Building Dashboard® directly to their customers, with the reseller’s
branding. Building Dashboard® is for any building, including “brown”
buildings that are not already energy-efficient. Reseller partners can
manage the installation of Lucid’s hardware and software solution at the
customer site or configure the customer’s building automation system to
interoperate with Building Dashboard.
As part of the reseller program, resellers will be able to offer
monitoring of electricity usage as well as water, heating, cooling,
solar energy produced, natural gas and other resources. The product is
available today.
Lucid has found that companies that provide energy efficiency services
see Building Dashboard as a critical element in their portfolio of
energy solutions. For example, Uihlein Electric, a 98-year-old
electrical contracting company, based in Wisconsin, recently
repositioned the company to provide much-needed energy efficiency
solutions for its customers. It uses Building Dashboard® as a part of
its solution for customers.
“Lucid has made it easy to offer its Building Dashboard® product to our
customers,” said Tim Rigsby, president and CEO of Uihlein Electric.
“Providing an easy-to-understand display of energy usage that helps show
and quantify savings from our solutions is a critical element of our
offering. Already we have identified a large number of customers who are
eager to include the Building Dashboard as part of their overall
solution.”
Uihlein Electric, one of Lucid’s first reseller partners, is a certified
reseller of Building Dashboard, and is Lucid’s preferred reseller in the
state of Wisconsin.
“We have seen tremendous demand for our product in the past 18 months,”
Murray said. “By working closely with companies that provide energy
solutions, we can better quantify and display the energy savings,
provide a critical element to their solution, and help further reduce
energy use with customers.”
Lucid’s award-winning Building Dashboard is designed such that customers
can easily customize their solution for their specific needs, including
single building or campus-wide implementations. Add-on software modules,
like Lucid’s Data Downloader, Green Features module or Competition
module can be added separately.
Lucid Design Group is a privately held cleantech software company,

Today, tens of thousands of people live and work in schools, companies,
community and commercial centers and homes enhanced by Lucid's web-based
Building Dashboard® technology. Now in its third generation, the
intuitive Building Dashboard® user interface allows you to connect
