Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud.
We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.
Cisco’s Kittur Nagesh was a guest on “M2M” radio Tuesday (Nov. 10) hosted by Peggy Smedley, editorial director of M2M Magazine.
During the radio interview, Nagesh described the M-to-M ecosystem more as an “internet of things” that will drive productivity and improve lives – both consumers and businesses - across the value chain, promising an increased value of experience in productivity and monetization that will bring communities together.
Nagesh discussed the tremendous role that Service Providers play in bringing M-to-M to life as they provide the network intelligence and scalability to make it all happen seamlessly. Nagesh then summarized M-to-M stating that it has a DNA - Devices, the Network and Applications - that is required to deliver tomorrow’s “internet of things,” and the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is at the heart of making this happen.
Look for a part 2 to this interview, Nagesh has been invited back for a second guest appearance to continue the conversation on Cisco’s perspective on M-to-M. If you have a point of view about this topic please share them in the community.
A transcript of the interview is also available (PDF)
