GREENWICH, CT -- (Marketwire) -- 11/24/09 -- On October 5th, 2009, the Stone Point Capital Foundation hosted its fifth Charity Golf Tournament and Dinner at The Stanwich Club of Greenwich, to benefit The Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation. The event drew more than 140 golfers and 200 dinner attendees to hear speakers Dr. Ronald DeMatteo and Dr. David Sidransky discuss fibrolamellar cancer, a rare form of liver cancer that typically occurs in young adults and children. Dr. DeMatteo serves as Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery, Chief of the Division of General Surgical Oncology and Director of the General Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, and Dr. Sidransky is the Director of Head and Neck Cancer Research in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Johns Hopkins University. The event raised over $500,000 to support education and research efforts focused on fibrolamellar. Lead sponsors of the event included Stone Point Capital LLC, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, Amherst Securities Group LP and AXIS Capital Holdings Limited.

"The mission of the Stone Point Capital Foundation and the sponsorship of our most recent charity event reflect our continued commitment to support charitable organizations throughout the tri-state area," said Charles A. Davis, CEO of Stone Point Capital. "We truly appreciate the generosity of our friends and colleagues and look forward to the education and research advances that will be made possible by the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation."
