Plone and Drupal: Different Approaches, Different Results
paul.nowak wrote: Matt, thanks for the comments. I made an error on the version of Plone. It's 2.5 Plone running on Zope 2.9x. In regards to the additional products, we have a skin installed and we have a product that we had custom developed for us that connects to a PostgreSQL database. We've looked at slow PostgreSQL queries causing problems and have not been able to find an issue. We've also tested for the case where the PostgreSQL server is down and have not been able to create an issue. We therefor...

Webroot Releases Next Generation of Award-Winning Anti-Spyware Protection for the Enterprise Market
Incorporation of Comprehensive Removal Technology (CRT) Bolsters Launch of Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5

By: PR Newswire
Aug. 22, 2005 12:01 PM

BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Webroot Software, Inc., the leading provider of anti-spyware software and other security technologies for consumer and enterprise markets, today launched the next generation of its enterprise-class, centrally managed anti-spyware solution. Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5, which is designed specifically to protect businesses of all sizes from the most malicious types of spyware, is the first corporate anti-spyware solution to protect enterprises with the use of Webroot's Comprehensive Removal Technology (CRT), the most advanced spyware removal technology in the industry.

CRT uses adaptive recognition practices to remove processes, applications or files that may have changed during the remediation process or may not have been previously detected. The unique technology completely disables spyware programs detected on a system PC, rendering them ineffective. Using CRT, Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 assures system stability during and after the spyware removal process. Additionally, CRT generates an extremely low false positive rate -- approximately 1:1,000,000 -- a critical element for enterprises who cannot risk the possibility of removing essential system operations applications or data.

"During the past six months, in institutions across the globe, we have witnessed the damage that a single piece of malicious spyware can inflict on a corporation," said C. David Moll, CEO of Webroot Software. "The ability of an anti-spyware solution to block, detect and fully remove each piece of spyware has become essential for securing an enterprise's property and welfare. By adding CRT to our anti-spyware arsenal, Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 becomes the only corporate anti-spyware solution to effectively detect and remove the most malicious pieces of spyware."

In addition to CRT, Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 showcases an enhanced, core engine that further improves the solution's unparalleled remediation of the most damaging types of spyware, including system monitors, keyloggers, trojans and remote threads in core processes and rootkits. Powered by Phileas, the security industry's first automated spyware research system to actively pursue and identify spyware, this new engine protects customers from over 100,000 unique traces of spyware by automatically updating spyware definitions at least twice a week. Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 also offers disk sweeps that are now five to 10 times faster than the previous version, while at the same time requiring lower CPU utilization, as well as a safe mode option.

Client administrators can now control their Spy Sweeper Enterprise deployment anywhere an Internet connection is available by using the product's new Web-based administration feature. This new feature uses a rich user interface with drag-and-drop functionality, allows multiple users to be simultaneously logged into the console, and does not require an additional Web server.

Other new features and enhancements in Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 include: powerful new graphical and text reporting capabilities; new Smart Shields including an ADS (Alternative Data Stream) shield, which prevents spyware programs from hiding from detection; and a mobile client update enhancement that automatically checks for definition updates whenever a client PC is off the corporate network.

Since its introduction in June 2004, Spy Sweeper Enterprise has sold two million licenses and is deployed across more than 6,500 businesses and institutions. For enterprises still evaluating the spyware threat and the solutions available to them, Webroot provides two free tools to ease the process. The Webroot Corporate Spy Audit tool enables corporations to assess the risk level their organizations face from spyware infections. Additionally, the company offers a free 30-day trial of Spy Sweeper Enterprise to allow organizations to test a proven corporate anti-spyware solution while also protecting their networks from the dangers of spyware. The Corporate Spy Audit tool is located at http://www.webrootdisp.net/entaudit/start.php and the Spy Sweeper Enterprise trial download is currently available at http://www.webroot.com/entcenter/enterprise_trial.php.
