SAP Business One 8.8 Announced by SAP

SAP announced the new version of SAP Business One last week, noting it's improved usability, faster time to value, and the benefits of the partner channel on the product. SAP Business One is now used by thousands of companies worldwide, helping to manage the entire business and foster future growth. The new version, SAP Business One 8.8, continues to bring strong value to small and midsize companies, especially with the new embedded Crystal Reports. SAP Business One 8.8 Ramp Up

SAP Business One 8.8 is currently in "ramp-up", and has been for roughly 8 months. Ramp-up is SAP's term for end user testing and beta, in which customers around the world use the product in a test and live environment. Orchestra is participating in ramp-up, with customers on the new version already and using SAP Business One 8.8 internally ourselves.

Our customers in ramp-up and our own experience tells us the new 8.8 version is ready for the big time. The upgrade takes less than four hours, and the benefits are immediate with more speed, nice new user interface, and embedded Crystal Reports.

SAP Business One 8.8 general release is planned for April 2010, so all customers should begin the process of scheduling an upgrade and doing any testing necessary for your system. We've found very few issues with upgrading to 8.8, but we always recommend a round of testing before doing any type of system version upgrade.
