Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud.
We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.
WHAT: A conference call to announce, discuss and answer questions
about a new industry collaborative formed this month to help build
consumer engagement in the roll out of the smart grid. The Smart Grid
Consumer Collaborative (SGCC) includes consumer electronics and
technology companies, retailers, consumer advocacy groups, and utilities
that are dedicated to finding solutions that maximize the value of the
grid for consumers.
With the recent surge in stimulus funding towards smart grid programs,
the SGCC looks to ensure these investments provide the energy efficiency
and savings promised and to strengthen the efficacy of American
businesses in deploying these new technologies here and abroad.
WHO:
Jesse Berst, acting Executive Director of the SGCC, Managing Director
of GlobalSmartEnergy
Richard Walker, President of Control4 Energy Systems
John McDonald, General Manager of Marketing for GE’s Digital Energy
