By Roger Strukhoff
Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

By: Business Wire
May. 17, 2010 08:14 AM

Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Motorola (NYSE: MOT) will co-sponsor an educational event in Shenzhen at the Shangri-La Hotel on Tuesday, May 18. The meeting is the final gathering of a three-city series of educational events to enlighten business and government leaders in China on enterprise mobility and wireless infrastructure solutions.

The event series, “Mobilizing your Business in a Wireless World,” extends the strength of the alliance between Zebra Technologies, IBM and Motorola. The partnership between the three industry leaders in enterprise mobility offers customers a unique combination of benefits including faster return on investment through increased flexibility of mobile workers, reduced transaction errors, and improved customer satisfaction and loyalty.

The day-long event in Shenzhen will focus on the role mobility plays in business today and highlight joint end-to-end solution portfolios and regional opportunities in mobility and wireless.

“The China market is a strong and growing market for Zebra as well as our partners IBM and Motorola,” said Mark Welles, vice president of Asia Pacific for Zebra Enterprise Solutions, a division of Zebra Technologies. “These events provide us an exciting opportunity to educate the marketplace about how enterprise mobility, optimization solutions and wireless real time location systems can support their overall business strategy and deliver measurable results.”

“Mobilizing your Business in a Wireless World” will include a series of programs including product demonstrations, customer showcases and presentations, and will be hosted by senior business leaders from Zebra, IBM and Motorola. Each of the three companies will present technologies, solutions and service offerings for field force automation, mobile point of sale and route accounting. The events will also feature customer successes and solutions for distribution, transportation and logistics, retail and the consumer packaged goods industries.

Following are details of the previously held and upcoming educational events in major cities throughout China:

“These events showcase the unparalleled depth of collective expertise, experience, industry leading products, and technological innovation the alliance between IBM, Motorola and Zebra delivers in the form of end-to-end solutions that drive greater return on investment and lower total cost of ownership,” said Chris Bazinet, director of alliances for IBM Global Services. “Our ability as a system integrator to put the best of these companies’ technologies together with IBM software to deliver proven, successful solutions worldwide is something we are extremely proud of showcasing at these events.”
