Postcode Anywhere MD Guy Mucklow Joins Board of Intellect

Worcester, United Kingdom, May 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Guy Mucklow, entrepreneur and managing director of business efficiency software company Postcode Anywhere, joins the board of Intellect today.

Intellect is the UK’s leading technology sector trade association, of which Postcode Anywhere is a member. Postcode Anywhere provides data-driven software and services including UK and international address auto-fill, commercial route planning, and customer profiling.

Mr Mucklow, who joins other senior executives from organisations such as Siemens, Fujitsu, Oracle, BT, Intel and BAE Systems, said: “It’s a great honour to be joining the ranks of such strong influencers in the UK technology industry.

“Having spent the last ten years working extremely hard to establish a successful internet-based business, I have a firsthand experience of the challenges that SMEs face in getting their businesses off the ground.

“Intellect has provided invaluable support to my company in this process, both through its comprehensive learning and training programmes, as well as through the invaluable networking opportunities we get from meeting other IT members.

“It also provides us with a voice in the technology industry and represents our interests, both to businesses and government, to help us influence the future direction of the UK IT sector.

“The technology industry is a huge force in the UK’s economy, and I look forward to representing the interests of small-medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in my new role on the board.

“Although the conglomerates and multinationals may steal much of the limelight, small businesses are the engine of the economy. According to the 2008 Glover report they constitute 99.9% of businesses in the UK, making up 59% of private sector workforce and 52% of business turnover.

“Technology drives innovation and growth, and in my view it’s the small-medium-sized companies that can generally be found at the cutting edge.”

Intellect’s Board meet six times a year to debate the challenges and opportunities for the technology industry. John Higgins, Director General of Intellect, said: “I am delighted to welcome Guy to Intellect’s Board of Directors.

“His experience of building a successful and cutting-edge technology business based in the UK will be a valuable addition to our board. I look forward to working with him as Intellect campaigns to make the UK one of the best places in the world for the technology businesses to operate.”

Intellect provides a collective voice for its members and drives connections with government and business to create a commercial environment in which they can thrive. It represents over 750 companies, ranging from SMEs to multinationals.
