Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud.
We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.
Digium®,
Inc., the Asterisk® Company, today announced the list of 21
companies who are the first to reserve space at their upcoming AstriCon
2010 Conference. According to company spokesperson John Todd, Digium
anticipates that based on the current pace of reservations for booths on
the expo floor, the remaining spaces in the exhibit hall will be sold
out well in advance of the event.
The Digium-sponsored conference, now in its seventh year, attracts
software developers, integrators, resellers, enterprise Asterisk users,
and Digium partners working with phone
systems, unified communications and voice over IP (VoIP).
AstriCon 2010 will be held October 26-28, 2010, at the Gaylord
National Resort and Convention Center near Washington, D.C.
Business, technical, carrier and advanced Asterisk tracks offer detailed
information for a variety of attendees. Registration for the conference
is open on the AstriCon
Web site.

“With nearly half of the spaces in the exhibit hall reserved five months
in advance of the event, the AstriCon team is very confident that our
move to the D.C-area will produce our largest event for the Asterisk
community to date,” explained Todd.
“For 2010, the AstriCon content is being expanded to better serve the
needs of Asterisk end users. In addition to ‘traditional’ AstriCon
programming for developers and integrators, new sessions added this year
are geared to helping Asterisk customers make the most of their
investments. By attracting this enterprise/SMB audience, we ensure that
attendees will be able to meet a more diverse group of vendors on the
expo floor,” added Todd.
Companies interested in exhibiting at the show should contact
TMC, Digium’s operational partner in AstriCon, at (203) 852-6800,
ext 132.
