We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

Panasonic Solutions Company, provider of collaboration,

3-chip DLP™ projectors for large-venue applications, the PT-ST10U LCD
portable with an extra-short throw lens, and the PT-LB2U LCD

fixed installation and public display venues including live events,
auditoriums, staging, digital signage and independent cinema. With
dual-lamp operation, the PT-DZ8700 series is also tailor-made for any
24/7 implementation, such as command and control centers.
The PT-DZ8700U, PT-DS8500U and PT-DW8300U will all be available in
August, with MSRPs of $69,000, $49,000 and $39,000, respectively.
Compact LCD Projector Creates Big Pictures in Small Space
The PT-ST10U LCD projector, Panasonic’s first entry into the short throw
category, can project an impressive 80-inch diagonal image from just
2.7-feet away from the screen, allowing users to create big pictures in
tight spaces such as small classrooms, conference rooms and trade show
booths.
Enhancing its go-to educational application, the PT-ST10U is ideal for
use with Interactive White Boards, and offers a White Board Mode that
automatically adjusts brightness to suit the white board surface. The
short throw projector can be matched with Panasonic's latest elite
Panaboard®, the UB-T880 Interactive Whiteboard, for enhanced classroom
solutions. The UB-T880 has a collapsible projector mount, enabling the
whiteboard to be easily moved from room to room without detaching the
projector.
The PT-ST10U offers 1024 x 768 XGA resolution and produces 2,500 lumens
of brightness. The compact projector weighs approx. 6 ½ pounds.
The PT-ST10U will be available in August with a manufacturer’s suggested
list price of $1,999.
PT-LB2U with Intelligent Power Management for Uninterrupted
Performance
The PT-LB2U micro-portable LCD projector delivers1024 x 768 XGA
resolution and 2.600 lumens of brightness. The compact, ultra-light unit
is effortless to move between locations, measuring 12” x 2-5/7” x
8-1/14” and weighing just over five pounds.
The new micro-portable incorporates Intelligent Power Management, new
circuitry that ensures continuous supply of power for stable operation
even if electricity fluctuates for a short duration. The projector’s
exclusive Daylight View™ Basic technology measures surrounding
illumination with a built-in ambient light sensor, and corrects the
image in real-time to project clear, crisp images even in brightly-lit
rooms, producing lifelike images with remarkable depth.
The PT-LB2U will be available in July at a manufacturer’s suggested list
