"Adding Fax Features to Toshiba's Strata Messaging solution gives SMB users the ability to manage their fax communications in a unified messaging format, helping improve productivity and reduce fax costs," said Mark Carpenter, director of Product Management for Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division.
"With Fax Features, Strata Messaging users can eliminate costly and unreliable fax machines and can manage all their fax communications in their mailboxes," advised Ron Hunsaker, senior product manager for Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division. "In addition, adding fax into the feature set of such a low cost system makes Strata Messaging a smart and easy choice over the competition."
Strata Messaging Fax Features Lets SMB Users Manage Their Faxes
With Fax Features, Strata Messaging users can manage their incoming and outgoing faxes in a unified messaging format, which improves productivity while reducing fax costs.
Among the new capabilities are:
Fax Mail -- Allows a mailbox owner to receive faxes in the voice mailbox and view them via unified messaging, or reroute the fax to a physical fax machine.
Fax From Desktop -- Provides users with the ability to send faxes from the desktop.
Incoming Fax Target -- Allows faxes to be rerouted from an incoming mailbox to a secondary mailbox.
Incoming Fax Direct Inward Dialing (DID) -- Associates a DID number with the mailbox for inbound fax messages, allowing the fax to be stored in the mailbox.
Fax Auto Print -- Allows automatic printing of incoming faxes to network printers in a Microsoft Windows® environment.
Fax Log -- Creates a web-based report that displays the mailbox owner's outbound faxes.
Fax-on-Demand -- Allows incoming callers to access a library of documents and select a specific fax document to be faxed to them.
Fax Queue -- Creates a web-based report that displays the mailbox owner's outbound faxes currently queued for transmission.
Fax Settings -- Allows the mailbox owner to set personal outbound fax settings, such as the number of times to retry fax delivery.
Cost-Effective Upgrade
Fax Features are easy to add to Strata Messaging. Enterprises just need to purchase the fax license and gateway. Some Fax Features, such as Fax Mail and Fax From Desktop, also require users to have Unified Messaging licenses. "This is also great news for existing Strata Messaging customers who can easily add the new fax options to their installed systems," Hunsaker added.
