PopScreen™, a leader in viral video monitoring, today announced the launch of the world’s first video prediction engine. The service measures the pulse of online videos from thousands of sources across the web, including content from major user generated video sites like YouTube, DailyMotion, and Vimeo, digital networks like Revision3, Babelgum, and FunnyOrDie, as well as premium content networks. The engine collects hundreds of thousands of unique data points that are processed through a proprietary algorithm, accurately predicting the viral lift of a video and identifying popular and newsworthy content before it goes mainstream.
"The predictive engine is the backbone of the PopScreen user experience," said Co-Founder, Kevin Nguyen. "But, it also serves as the foundation for PopScreen's rating and recommendation platform, which provides an online video experience tailored specifically to the user's interests."
PopScreen's video prediction engine will be rolled out on a larger scale over the coming months to allow partners across all industries including news, publishing, and search, to syndicate predictive data and provide their users with access to the most timely and newsworthy video content on the web, tailored specifically to their interests.
PopScreen was founded in 2008 by search engine veterans Kevin Nguyen and Glenn Gutierrez, who in 2003 launched Zapmeta, a meta search engine which processed 25-35 million searches a month and generated over $15 million dollars in revenue.
