Drool, Britannia? Is the UK Failing the Cloud?
By Roger Strukhoff
Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

My Damn Channel Launches All New Programming in World's Longest Press Release
10 New Channels Include Branded Entertainment for Paramount and Adult Swim

By: PR Newswire
Jul. 29, 2010 07:00 AM

NEW YORK, July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- My Damn Channel (www.MyDamnChannel.com) today announced a new slate of original programming to mark the company's third birthday as a producer and distributor of some of the most-watched comedy and music series. Ten new custom channels include branded entertainment deals with Paramount and Adult Swim to promote their summer comedies, Dinner for Schmucks and Childrens Hospital respectively.

Since 2007, My Damn Channel has birthed over 30 video channels for brands, filmmakers, actors, musicians and comedians. Original series feature artists who bring sizable audiences to My Damn Channel and to its distribution partners and sponsors. Harry Shearer, David Wain, Don Was, Illeana Douglas, Keanu Reeves, Coolio, Will Forte, Kristin Wiig, Felicia Day, Jon Bon Jovi, Elizabeth Banks, Jonah Hill, Sam Seder, David Cross and Sarah Silverman are some of the creators and stars behind award-winning, hit series including Wainy Days, Easy to Assemble, Sparhusen, The Webventures of Justin & Alden, Horrible People, Celebrity Autobiography, Pilot Season, and the cult phenomenon You Suck at Photoshop.

"We're celebrating our third birthday this week unleashing an entire new programming line-up of branded channels and original series," said My Damn Channel Founder and CEO, Rob Barnett. "We worship every creator, fan, and sponsor who support the most original new form of show business since television."

My Damn Channel will launch these new branded channels and original series this week and throughout the month of August:

Childrens Hospital: Dr. Owen Maestro

Turner's Adult Swim just launched the web comedy series, Childrens Hospital, which originally premiered on TheWB.com. Adult Swim partnered with My Damn Channel's Wainy Days and Horrible People producer Jonathan Stern to executive produce, write and direct Childrens Hospital: Dr. Owen Maestro, a companion series of Adult Swim-branded videos featuring Human Giant alum Rob Huebel as his Hospital character 'Dr. Owen Maestro.' Adult Swim is airing the original Childrens Hospital web series Sunday nights at 10:30p E/P. The show stars Rob Corddry, Rob Huebel, Megan Mullally, Lake Bell, Malin Akerman, Henry Winkler, Erinn Hayes and Ken Marino. All new episodes premiere August 22nd on Adult Swim. Childrens Hospital: Dr. Owen Maestro can be viewed now at http://www.MyDamnChannel.com/ChildrensHospital.

Dinner for Schmucks Channel

To promote the new Steve Carell/Paul Rudd comedy Dinner for Schmucks, Paramount enlisted My Damn Channel to produce original branded videos on a dedicated channel and throughout the My Damn Channel syndicated network. Leading YouTubers and ROFLcon bloggers including Molly Templeton (mememolly), David Jr., Justin Johnson (onetrick.net), Ryan Hunter (poykpac), John Higgins (siteboy.net) and Mark Malkoff are featured in exclusive My Damn Channel videos shot at a recent, private screening of the film. These web celebs are interviewed by My Damn Channel's host Grace Helbig, star of the network's Daily Grace. The Dinner for Schmucks channel can be viewed now at http://www.MyDamnChannel.com/DinnerForSchmucks.

Don Was: The Wasmopolitan Cavalcade of Recorded Music

Legendary producer Don Was has hosted the music destination on My Damn Channel since its launch in 2007. This summer, Was premieres the fourth season of The Wasmopolitan Cavalcade of Recorded Music, featuring weekly recording sessions with new and established artists. This season, Was will world premiere live performance footage recorded this summer during the Don Was Detroit All-Star Revue at Metro Detroit's "Concert of Colors" annual diversity music festival. The Wasmopolitan Cavalcade of Recorded Music can be viewed at http://www.MyDamnChannel.com/DonWas .

Easy to Assemble: Finding North
The third season of Illeana Douglas' IKEA-sponsored comedy Easy to Assemble returns to My Damn Channel this fall. Advertising Age called Easy To Assemble "the most-watched sponsored web show." The second season reached 13 million views and racked-up multiple Webby nods; a record 7 Streamy Award nominations - winning for Best Ensemble Cast and Best Brand Integration; the Independent Television Festival Innovator Award; and the best online performance at the Banff World Television Festival Awards. Easy to Assemble stars series creator and writer Illeana Douglas, who quits her Hollywood career to go work at IKEA. The series features an impressive cast of TV and film pros including Justine Bateman, Craig Bierko, Tim Meadows, Jane Lynch, David Henrie, Cheri Oteri, Wallace Langham, Rob Mailhouse, Todd Spahr, Daryl Sabara, Eric Lange, Tom Arnold, Jeff Goldblum, Kevin Pollak and Ed Begley, Jr. Easy to Assemble: Finding North, which Douglas describes as "a cinematic return to her indy roots," finds Illeana and her IKEA co-workers arriving in Sweden, where they are joined by returning cast members and new additions including Patricia Heaton, Fred Willard, Ray Wise, Roger Fan, and Joseph Gatt (from the upcoming Thor movie). Sparhusen fans can expect a mystery surrounding the return of the 'almost great band of Sweden.' Illeana Douglas will be featured in a multi-episode guest arc on Entourage next season. All episodes of Easy to Assemble can be viewed now at http://www.MyDamnChannel.com/EasyToAssemble.

Go Sukashi!

John Soares and Justin Spurlock of Westhavenbrook Productions, and Earthworm Jim creator Doug TenNapel present the quixotic superhero series Go Sukashi! Spoofing Japanese Sentai/Power Ranger shows, Go Sukashi! was originally created by Japanese pop star Shoko Nakagawa. Westhavenbrook and TenNapel developed this new comedy series starring the world's first Sand Dollar superhero who battles the "Hidden Rectanguloids," beings from another dimension who want to destroy the world. Go Sukashi! can be viewed now at http://www.MyDamnChannel.com/GoSukashi.

The Mark Malkoff Channel

Comedian, writer, filmmaker and former Colbert Report staffer, Mark Malkoff has a proven ability to deliver unique entertainment experiences for brands. He consistently captures massive media coverage and millions of video views. Now, Mark Malkoff is bringing his special blend of pop culture video performance art to My Damn Channel. Malkoff first gained worldwide media attention for his video visits to all 171 Starbucks franchises in Manhattan on a single day in the summer of 2007. Malkoff's next media-grabbing stunt happened when he moved into an IKEA in Paramus, New Jersey for a week while his NY apartment was being fumigated. Last summer, Malkoff lived on an AirTran jet for 30 days to conquer his fear of flying - breaking the Guinness World Record for most flights taken in a 30-day period with 135 flights. After that, he set out to prove New Yorkers weren't rude, just misunderstood...and busy, so he convinced 155 individuals to carry him 9.4 miles across Manhattan. Last October, Malkoff traveled cross-country for four weeks in a Ford Fusion Hybrid to see how many U.S. mayors he could get to present him their key to the city. The Mark Malkoff channel will premiere in August.

My Damn Channel Presents: The Room

My Damn Channel's first suspenseful drama is a psychological mystery created and directed by Anais Godard and produced by Lauren Spagnoletti. The Room is a game with rules. Truthfully answer the questions you are given, or you will not be able to leave The Room. The personal stories of the individual characters in this series are revealed by the end of each episode. The Room always uncovers a mystery. The Room knows the truth. My Damn Channel Presents: The Room can be viewed now at http://www.MyDamnChannel.com/TheRoom.

My Record Collection

In 2009, My Damn Channel launched a new business called "RAMP" (Radio and Music Pros). Every weekday, thousands of radio and music pros get a free daily subscription to breaking industry news. "RAMP" is ad-supported with a companion website at www.MyDamnChannel.com/RAMP. This fall, former MTV host of 120 Minutes and current morning man on Rock 101.9 RXP in New York, Matt Pinfield, hosts a new video series for My Damn Channel called My Record Collection. Matt visits the homes of the biggest rock stars, comics and movie people on earth to talk vinyl and rock and roll. This series is seeking sponsors interested in brand integration inside a show that will deliver live radio promotion and guarantee millions of video views by tapping the music passion of fans who get a private look inside the homes and music collections of A-list artists.

Spook House Dave!

Spook House Dave! is a sweet, creepy puppet series about a young boy named Dave who lives with a not-so-frightening family of monsters. A vampire, a witch, a werewolf, a mummy and a big green monster all bumble together to help a 12-year-old make his way in the world. Produced by Dragonfruit Studios, Spook House Dave! was created by Lucky Yates, Melissa Honabach, Michael Koziol and features a talented team of writers, puppeteers, and improv comedians. Spook House Dave! can be viewed now at http://www.MyDamnChannel.com/SpookHouseDave.

SUPEREGO
Comedian and former Sopranos star Will Janowitz and Miss March scribe and actor Ryan Homchick created and star in this new comedy series from Fox Television Studios. Janowitz plays Dr. Charlie Knight, an eccentric, unconventional, often volatile young therapist who needs a shrink more than the patients he treats. SUPEREGO can be viewed now at http://www.MyDamnChannel.com/SUPEREGO
