Gary Reasons of DocSoft visited SYS-CON headquarters today for an exclusive SYS-CON.TV interview to talk about the latest product releases from DocSoft. DocSoft is featured in the upcoming issue of SYS-CON's IT Solutions Guide, which will be on newsstands first week of December. Reasons, a professional consultant at DocSoft, is a former New York Giants football player and a commentator for FOX Sports. His SYS-CON.TV interview will stream on Monday, November 14.
DocSoft, a leader in XML technology, announced the release of W2XML version 2.5, with new support for converting Microsoft Equation objects to MathML. W2XML is a very popular tool for converting DOC and RTF files to well-formed XML. The XML can then be further modified via custom XSLTs applied during the conversion. One of the custom XSLTs that ships with W2XML converts most Word documents to Docbook-compliant XML (http://www.docbook.org/).
The additional support for converting Microsoft Equation objects into MathML (a W3C standard for describing mathematic formulas in a format easily transmittable over the Web) augments W2XML’s existing conversion capabilities unmatched by other Word-to-XML conversion tools.
Other new features include support for page anchors and the ability to ignore smart tags and revision information when converting a document. Several of these improvements started as requests from users to make W2XML an even more robust tool.
A free trial version is available at https://www.docsoft.com/store. For more information, contact DocSoft toll free at 877.430.3503, e-mail at info@docsoft.com, or visit http://www.docsoft.com.
