We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.
I was proud to be part of TechWave 2010 Keynote in Washington DC, presenting after John Chen and Dr Raj Nathan. It was my pleasure to present to the 750+ audience, a 10 minute section on the ease of Mobilizing SAP Data via a scenario of an Enterprise Company empowering their Information Workers. This set me up nicely to show a demo of the Sybase Unwired Platform Tooling (Sybase's MEAP) and then the Sybase Sales CRM for SAP, on iPhone... then iPad.
I noticed today that Seth Grimes of Intelligent Enterprise on Information Week, has written up the messages of the TechWave Keynote and has placed a comment & link with respect to my part. I would like to thank him for this.
If you missed TechWave or want to re-watch my section that Seth mentions in the link above, please see the video below...
Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms (MEAP’s) are the next-generation architecture for mobile enterprise application development. They provide a set of comprehensive services that allow customers to mobilize appropriate data and business processes for enterprises using virtually any mobile device. Combine 4GL tooling and integration with standard development environments for quick development, deployment across heterogeneous devices and market-leading device management in a comprehensive platform to handle all of an enterprise’s mobile application requirements.
In addition, MEAP’s significantly reduces a company’s total cost of ownership by enabling strategic mobile deployments instead of tactical or siloed mobile application approaches. It also is a Future Proof Investment that reduces the complexity and allows a faster time to market.
