AccessData today announced that its "Secure Network Communications
Module" has received FIPS 140-2 validation (Certificate 1374). This
module comes embedded in both AccessData's market-leading enterprise
investigations solution and electronic discovery solution, AD Enterprise
and AD eDiscovery. It will also be delivered with AccessData's new
"Cyber Intelligence and Response Technology" (CIRT) solution, due to
release by 2011. "FIPS certification is considered the standard for
certification of cryptographic modules internationally and validates
that data transferred over any public or private network when employing
our certified cryptographic module will be encrypted and protected,"
explained Brian Karney, President and COO of AccessData.
The AccessData Secure Network Communications module provides to any
AccessData application that incorporates it, electronic encryption
designed to prevent unauthorized access to data transferred across a
physical or wireless TCP/IP network. The following enterprise-class
products utilize the AccessData Secure Network Communications Module.
AD Enterprise is used to investigate multiple computers across an
enterprise, allowing the user to preview, analyze and acquire data
from 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows, Solaris, Linux and Macintosh
machines. It is used to investigate and remediate security breaches,
to perform internal investigations to address issues, such as IP theft
and fraud, and to facilitate corporate and governmental compliance.
AD eDiscovery addresses everything from litigation hold to production
for legal review in an automated, defensible manner. Users can manage
legal matters, custodians, collections and legal holds within an
easy-to-use dashboard. The solution automatically collects both
structured and unstructured data and processes massive amounts of data
quickly, leveraging highly scalable distributed processing. The
web-interface enables multi-party collaboration for early case
assessment and deep analysis. Users can then generate load files for
common third-party review tools. Adopted by leading Fortune 500
companies, AccessData eDiscovery software delivers dramatic time and
cost savings with every use.
AccessData's new CIRT product fully integrates deep incident response,
host and network forensics to provide a single solution, with which
federal agencies and corporations can perform Cyber Security
operations. Such operations include proactive and reactive
identification of threats across the network from multiple vantage
points, as well as data auditing to address issues, such as classified
spillage and PCI compliance. Using CIRT, organizations will be able to
manage end point and network forensic analysis within a single
interface to gain actionable intelligence that will allow them to more
effectively defend their information assets.
These solutions work by deploying agents across a computer network,
which communicate with a Work Manager Server, Enterprise Examiner
workstation, or Proxy Server as directed by the applications
administrator. The FIPS 140-2 certification validates that all
communication with an agent is authorized and provides protected data
transport within an enterprise or through the internet when using
AccessData’s Proxy Server technology.
