WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 12/07/10 -- Adapx, the company that is changing the way mobile teams collect data and collaborate, today announced Capturx energy management solution showcases at the World Energy Engineering Congress and Lime Energy as a new customer. As green building retrofitting accelerates, energy managers are scrambling for ways to deal with the shortage of energy engineers by improving productivity and streamlining operations. Capturx software for digital pens enables energy teams to perform up to 33% more energy audits by automatically digitizing energy audit data collected on paper and eliminating the delays, costs, and risks of manual data re-entry and scanning.
"With Capturx, our energy auditors can dramatically speed up data capture," said Burke Ewers, VP Sales, Lime Energy. A leader in providing a full range of energy efficiency solutions, Lime Energy has completed nearly 2 ½ billion square feet of energy efficiency projects since 1980. In addition to providing customers with energy efficiency ROI of 40 to 50%, Lime provides customers with a more comfortable, productive, and pure physical environment. "Capturx helps us to speed up projects so customers can enjoy their energy savings sooner, which is good for their utility bills and the environment," added Ewers.
Capturx automates the processing of data collected on energy audit forms and building plans during energy audit walk-throughs. Data is digitized as it is written on paper by the digital pen, which creates both normal ink-on-paper copies and digital records stored on the pen. When the pen is connected to a PC by USB or to a cell-phone using built-in Bluetooth, all the data is instantly sent to the back-office and integrated into the original Excel files, PDF files, SharePoint document libraries, or ArcGIS. The back-office gets real-time access to the original handwriting and converted data tables so they can complete customer estimates and projects faster. Energy auditors can spend more time with customers, performing audits and expediting energy improvements instead of paperwork.
"The unprecedented demand for building energy efficiency improvements has led to a severe shortage of energy auditors," said Ken Schneider, CEO of Adapx. "We're pleased to help energy management firms overcome the bottlenecks, so their teams can serve more clients and expedite energy efficiencies which is important for all of us."
Attendees of the World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC) can learn more about how Capturx is used to streamline energy audits, facilities management, environmental engineering projects, and utilities management by leaders such as NASA, MACTEC, the Port of Seattle, Pepco, and others. The World Energy Engineering Congress meets at the Washington DC Convention Center on December 8th-9th.
