I posted my last three entries @fuatkircaali around 2:45am Eastern time, Saturday morning. At 8:00am Eastern time I had no access to Twitter from my iPhone and iPad until now, as I post this blog entry.
The Twitter problem seemed confined to the US, but that was terrible. All the big news breaks on Twitter in these times. But the world's most influential country was dark?
The rest of the world seemed OK. My "tweeps" around the world reported no outage in the Philippines, Syria, Sweden, Egypt, Lebanon, or Turkey. Other reports I received from U.S. East Coast, New York through Florida indicated that they couldn't access Twitter during the same overnight period. One "tweep" in Florida reported at 10:22 am "its's back on!"
I don't know. According to some reports, the site has been down since at least 3 a.m. Eastern time. The site has been experiencing problems for the past week, with numerous users reporting that they have been unable to tweet, re-tweet or follow users. There have been several news reports on the outage.

"Vogue's ridiculous puff piece on Syria's ruling family" broke on Twitter. Even the "fake" Bashar al-Assad an @SyrianPresident tweeted the Vogue story featuring his wife Alma al-Assad.
As of Friday, the Twitter status site reported that they were "currently experiencing elevated error rates. You may experience some problems loading twitter.com and with Twitter clients. We are aware of the problem and are taking action." What was the action? Writing status reports like this? Anything else?
Centernetworks.com reported on Saturday "It appears that Twitter is currently down for most users - I was first unable to access the site around 3am Eastern time. As of the time of this post, 8:30am Eastern time, I am still unable to access Twitter.com." The site suggested that "this might have to do with the snow in San Francisco." Huh?
"But now the problem has expanded and there's no access to the site. It's unknown how widespread the outage is."
At 9:44am Eastern time on Saturday KTUL.com reported "For avid users of the popular social network Twitter, this morning is bringing some aggravation. Users are having problems even getting to the website."
Newsfuzion.com posted at 10:00 Eastern time "Twitter is back up and functioning normally. Let's hope it stays that way."
Other reports say access is intermittent.
Breaking News from Libya and other middle Eastern countries where the Arab Revolution (sometimes referred to as the Twitter revolution) appear on Twitter first.
CNN International and Al Jazeera monitor Twitter and heavily rely on breaking news feeds around the clock.

On Friday the Vogue's ridiculous puff piece on Syria's ruling family broke on Twitter. The Vogue cover story about Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad's wife created hundreds of tweets and re-tweets, calling for a new date of uprising in Damascus with the new hash tag of #Mar15. Beware the Ides of March!
