Retail Leader Anna’s Linens Awards Transplace Long-Term Contract Renewal for Third Party Logistics, Managed Services Solution

Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, today announced the continuation of its relationship with Anna’s Linens through a full contract expansion. The specialty retailer of quality, value-priced home décor, window coverings and treatments, bed and bath linens, and other home furnishings, will continue to leverage Transplace’s managed services solution and logistics technology for all domestic transportation management activities.

“With its knowledgeable, experienced team and proven technology solutions, Transplace was able to immediately establish improved processes and a streamlined transportation management approach, improving supply chain visibility and achieving significant cost savings,” said Anna’s Linens Chief Operating Officer Scott Gladstone. “Anna’s Linens has greatly benefited from Transplace’s deep expertise and experience in the retail industry. We continue to look to Transplace as a strategic partner to provide superior support for driving continuous improvement within our supply chain operations and enabling Anna’s Linens to achieve its business goals.”

Since 2008, Anna’s Linens has contracted Transplace to manage all inbound shipments to its distribution centers located in Texas, California, and North and South Carolina as well as all outbound freight to its 271 stores, spanning 19 states. As a result of employing Transplace’s on-demand TMS, Anna’s Linens has successfully improved transportation processes and execution, which has increased freight visibility and cost savings, and improved efficiency across Anna’s Linens’ enterprise.

“We looked to Transplace to bring industry expertise and comprehensive logistics technology, and work collaboratively with Anna’s Linens to transform our supply chain,” said Miles Tedder, vice president of supply chain for Anna’s Linens. “Transplace’s experience in the retail industry and overall service offering has allowed Anna’s Linens to reduce its overall freight expense, consolidate and optimize inbound/outbound shipments, and streamline and enhance delivery processes and communication to our stores located throughout the country.”

The use of business intelligence has allowed Transplace to build strategic and tactical reports to better measure service levels and performance, and identify areas of opportunity. This detailed reporting and analysis has helped Anna’s Linens determine the cost of its transportation network and gain greater visibility of current budgeting and planning.

“Leveraging Transplace’s unique Retail Logistics Solution, based on decades of knowledge and customer input, comprehensive TMS, and our business intelligence offering has enabled us to successfully optimize Anna’s Linens’ transportation operations and achieve significant cost savings,” said George Abernathy, executive vice-president and chief operating officer for Transplace. “By continuing to work collaboratively with Anna’s Linens, we will design and implement solutions that meet the company’s specific needs both today and in the future.”
