Seattle is now bettors' favorite for Super Bowl XL
Sportsbook.com Gives Updated State-by-State Breakdown of Super Bowl Betting Trends - Major shifts in Ohio and Michigan

By: PR Newswire
Jan. 31, 2006 05:54 PM

DETROIT, MI, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The countdown to Super Bowl XL is on and betting is hotter than ever. A total of 30 states are now betting on the Seahawks to take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy, compared to 20 for the Steelers. Despite trailing in the electorate, Pittsburgh still leads the popular vote with 50.5% of total money nationally wagered on the surging Steelers squad. To view the electorate map, please visit http://files.newswire.ca/241/SuperBowl_Map.pdf

As of last Tuesday, 26 states were betting on the favored Steelers, but the tide of support has since turned and now only 20 states are betting on Pittsburgh. The road to Detroit has seen a number of seismic shifts in the betting trends from key battleground states. While the three most populous states, California, New York and Texas, continue to favor the Steelers, the key states of Michigan, North Carolina and Georgia have had a change of heart and are now betting heavily on the Seahawks. Maryland and Ohio have both switched to the Steelers.

Not surprisingly, 82% of Pennsylvanians are banking on the Steelers to pull out the win, while 99% of Washingtonians are betting on the Seahawks. Pittsburgh's percentage of the popular vote has also dropped 6.5% from 57% to 50.5%.

Sportsbook.com has posted the following odds and propositions for the February 5 Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers. If you would like to speak to an odds maker from Sportsbook.com about your team's odds, please contact Sportsbook.com at 1-866-505-2900.
