ANN ARBOR, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/14/06 -- Molly Maid and "Extreme Makeover: Home
Edition" were, well, "maid" for each other. The best-in-class professional
maid service joined the popular hit TV program to provide house cleaning
services for Carol Crawford-Smith and her family of Blacksburg, Virginia
featured in the February 12, 2006 program. Carol -- a single mother, dance
instructor, and former soloist with the world-renowned Dance Theater of
Harlem -- was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis five years ago and has
difficulty getting around her house. Molly Maid responded by donating
regularly-scheduled comprehensive house cleaning services to Carol and her
family -- for life.
Molly Maid's services will be provided by the franchise in Roanoke,
Virginia, which is owned by Mike Powell, who along with his staff and Jean
O'Brien from the franchise's Ann Arbor, MI headquarters joined design team
leader Ty Pennington and the entire community of Roanoke, Virginia in
exhorting bus drivers to "Move That Bus" during the climactic home-reveal
portion of the show.
"Molly Maid's total housekeeping services are designed to lift the physical
and mental burden of household maintenance from the homeowner's shoulders,"
said Harry Young, president of Molly Maid. "It is an absolute perfect fit
for us to provide this important service to Carol and her family, and an
honor for our organization and franchise owners to be selected by 'Extreme
Makeover: Home Edition' to provide it."
"Molly Maid's generous donation of cleaning services for life is, indeed,
an incredible gift," said Diane Korman, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"
coordinating producer. "At 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,' we're proud of
all our vendors who help us to make a difference and know that Molly Maid's
services will be a great help to Carol and her family."
