SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/15/11 -- Dyn (formerly Dynamic Network Services Inc.) today announces the release of their Enterprise Class Technology (ECT) platform for the complete management of email delivery. The release of DynECT Email Delivery follows months of build out and improvements of redundant email infrastructure, solidifying the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) leader as a major player in the email delivery space.
DynECT Email Delivery (previously named SendLabs SmartMTA) was born out of Dyn's December 2010 acquisition of email services provider, SendLabs. The company's goal was to further develop an infrastructure that would allow power users to connect to Dyn and deploy either transactional or bulk email -- all while providing useful insights and statistics, under the watchful eye of deliverability experts.
Today the platform boasts additional technology, features and support that put it on par with Dyn's other enterprise level offerings, notably their DynECT Managed DNS platform, that serves nearly 1,500 Web enterprises.
"By including the Dyn name on this product, we are conveying its readiness for primetime," commented Kyle York, VP of Sales and Marketing at Dyn. "This rock-solid email platform is in position to send large volumes of email with real-time scalability. We've put a lot of time into training our teams, finalizing a user-friendly interface and developing advanced features that give us a true competitive edge."
Some of the features include:
- RepCheck - In an easy-to-read dashboard, users now have more insight into their sending reputation with Internet Service Providers including authentication, volume/frequency, inbox acceptance rate, complaint rates and more. This feature comes standard and is something traditionally available through 3rd parties for thousands of extra dollars.
- Open, Click and Read Tracking - Users can track open and click activity, in addition to a report that displays whether users read or skimmed through emails.
- Enhanced Dashboards - An advanced landing page reports high-level statistics from the past seven days, including the new "delivered" metrics. Items tracked include messages sent, but can now be categorized under either "delivered," "bounced," "complaints" or "issues."
- API Integration - Allows users to automate and integrate seamlessly with their current email application using our robust API. SMTP connection is also available.
"One of the reasons we went with DynECT Email Delivery is because of its reputation; a company that Meltwater partners with was a client and gave very positive reviews. We have done our fair share of research and found that the MTA field is very saturated with companies promising a lot of things on paper, but never really having a clear explanation as how it would be done," said Jeet Patel, Project Manager for Meltwater Group, who recently acquired fellow New Hampshire-based Internet company, JitterJam. "We were drawn to the great pricing and innovative features, along with their positive reviews, we felt that there was safety in our decision that they would help us not only improve deliverability but actually understand it."
Dyn will be celebrating the launch of DynECT Email Delivery Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at one of their popular DynTini networking events, taking place within O'Reilly's Velocity Conference and featuring live music from Oakland, CA, based James & Evander.

Some developers believe that monitoring is a function of the operations team. Some operations teams firmly believe that monitoring the systems they maintain is sufficient to run the business successfully. Most of them are wrong. The complexity of today's applications have gone far and beyond the capabilities of "traditional" system-level monitoring tools and approaches and requires much broader knowledge of business and applications as a whole. The goal of DevOps is to connect all aspects of app...

When an enterprise builds a hybrid IaaS cloud connecting its data center to one or more public clouds, security is often a major topic along with the other challenges involved. Security is closely intertwined with the networking choices made for the hybrid cloud. Traditional networking approaches for building a hybrid cloud try to kludge together the enterprise infrastructure with the public cloud. Consequently this approach requires risky, deep "surgery" including changes to firewalls, subnets...

DevOps is all about agility. However, you don't want to be on a high-speed bus to nowhere. The right DevOps approach controls velocity with a tight feedback loop that not only consists of operational data but also incorporates business context. With a business context in the decision making, the right business priorities are incorporated, which results in a higher value creation. In his session at DevOps Summit, Todd Rader, Solutions Architect at AppDynamics, discussed key monitoring techniques...

The security devil is always in the details of the attack: the ones you've endured, the ones you prepare yourself to fend off, and the ones that, you fear, will catch you completely unaware and defenseless. The Internet of Things (IoT) is nothing if not an endless proliferation of details. It's the vision of a world in which continuous Internet connectivity and addressability is embedded into a growing range of human artifacts, into the natural world, and even into our smartphones, appliances, a...

How do APIs and IoT relate? The answer is not as simple as merely adding an API on top of a dumb device, but rather about understanding the architectural patterns for implementing an IoT fabric. There are typically two or three trends: Exposing the device to a management framework Exposing that management framework to a business centric logic Exposing that business layer and data to end users. This last trend is the IoT stack, which involves a new shift in the separation of what stuff happe...

The Internet of Things is tied together with a thin strand that is known as time. Coincidentally, at the core of nearly all data analytics is a timestamp. When working with time series data there are a few core principles that everyone should consider, especially across datasets where time is the common boundary. In his session at Internet of @ThingsExpo, Jim Scott, Director of Enterprise Strategy & Architecture at MapR Technologies, discussed single-value, geo-spatial, and log time series dat...
