CUPERTINO, Calif., May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- PostX, the leader in the delivery of encrypted email communications for businesses and consumers, today announced its "Promising" rating in Gartner's MarketScope for E-mail encryption, 2006(i).
According to the report, there has been a trend for the consolidation of encrypted e-mail services, and as such, the MarketScope focuses on a specific email encryption market -- the gateway encryption market, in which no desktop software is required by sender or receiver. This is where Gartner continues to see the majority of user demand for specific solutions.
Gateway email encryption solutions provided by vendors in this market can be used for a variety of business requirements, states Gartner. For example, they can be used for sending emails externally to a small or large number of individual users or for internal deployments to obviate the needs for desktop software. The targeted external users may be a select set of business advisers (such as lawyers and bankers), to thousands of small-business partners, or millions of consumers.
"Since our founding, PostX has consistently delivered products and services that meet the widest array of security and business requirements at the very best possible costs. Whether compliance related or e-business driven, including secure document delivery applications, we have the ideal solution," said Cayce Ullman, CEO, PostX. "Today, millions of recipients have received an email message protected by PostX and this evaluation by one of the leading industry analyst firms for our pure-play email encryption products, once again confirms our technology and market position in the space."
The vendors included in the report were required to have the ability to support gateway-based encryption without the recipients needing to deploy an additional client. Additionally, vendors were only included if they had a minimum of 50 full-production enterprise customers, defined as more than 2,500 users and at least $1 million in revenue from gateway product in 2005.
The report also states, 2005 certainly generated a lot of activity for vendors, and security and email directors. Indeed, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and general compliance or risk concerns drove significant interest in email encryption in 2005.
The PostX suite of email security products includes right-sized solutions for any enterprise, powered by the PostX Messaging Application Platform (MAP) which provides customers the easiest to use and most cost-effective solution on the market, coupled with powerful encryption and security features. The PostX MAP is the only email encryption product to support all principal forms of secure delivery, including PostX Envelopes (Secure Push), PostX WebSafe (Secure Web-based messaging or Pull), OpenPGP, S/MIME and Transport Layer Security (TLS). PostX solutions include desktop-to-desktop, gateway-to-desktop, and gateway-to-gateway encryption options.
