Before Copernicus, the sun was thought to revolve around the earth; to speak otherwise was to invite charges of heresy. Similarly on the Web, the server has always been the center of the universe, with the client relegated to being more or less a dumb terminal, revolving at the periphery of a server-oriented architecture.
