WHAT:
Health 2.0 along with AT&T, athenahealth, and MIT's H@acking Medicine will host a big data coding competition to build new applications that can improve health care. Health 2.0 code-a-thons are one-day events where developers come together to rapidly develop health apps. The code-a-thon will be held the weekend before Health 2.0 Spring Fling: Matchpoint Boston, a conference focused on getting entrepreneurs to the negotiation table with established technology and health care leaders. The winner will receive $10,000 in cash, provided by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and a free conference pass to Health 2.0 Spring Fling, May 14-15, 2012.

Friday, May 11, 2012: Meet Up (6 - 8 p.m.)
Coders, health experts, and designers will learn about the developer challenge, network, form teams for the code-a-thon, and get a jump start on coding. The meet up will be located at Meadhall in Kendell Square, 4 Cambridge Center, Cambridge, MA 02142. Food will be provided.

Saturday, May 12, 2012: Code-a-thon (All Day)

• 9:00 - Doors Open
• 9:30 - Overview
• 10:00 - Idea pitches
• 10:30 - Coding begins
• 11:00 - Small presentations and intimate discussion groups with health tech start-up experts
• 6:00 - Final presentations and judging
• 7:00 - Announcement of winners by Farzad Mostashari, National Coordinator of Health Information Technology for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
