AirHop to Showcase Small Cell Advanced Self-Organizing Network Solutions at TIA 2012 Venture Network Challenge

AirHop Communications, the leading system provider of advanced radio access network (RAN) intelligence for small cells and HetNets, today announced it will vie for recognition as the top network innovation startup in the Telecommunications Industry Association’s Venture Network Challenge.

The 10 finalists in this competition will argue the merits of their cutting-edge innovations that address the information communication technology (ICT) industry’s most urgent needs. The event is being held on Thursday, June 7 from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. in the theater at the TIA 2012 conference and trade show.

AirHop will present its advanced RAN intelligence system solutions, which have been developed to solve the interference problems encountered by the deployment of small cell heterogeneous networks (HetNets). AirHop’s eSON™ advanced SON software provides a real-time, multi-cell optimization approach in multi-vendor environments. This technology can make small cells 30 percent more effective in terms of capacity by optimizing available bandwidth between macro cell basestations and small cells, or among small cells.

“The TIA Venture Network Challenge is about fostering our industry’s next great innovations,” said TIA President Grant Seiffert. “We look forward to evaluating 10 early stage companies in Dallas at TIA 2012: Inside in the Network.”

“AirHop has become a recognized leader in small cells with our advanced SON technology being used in both commercial products and military projects, and we started generating revenue last year,” said Yan Hui, founder and CEO of AirHop. “The opportunity to present in front of telecommunication industry leaders is important in broadening our industry recognition, as is the exposure from the video spotlight on TIA’s web channel. AirHop is excited about sharing our unique innovation with the TIA community.”

The Venture Network Challenge program, funded by TIA, Dow Chemical and the Metroplex Technology Business Council (MTBC), assists entrepreneurs and technologists who are developing ICT products and services with resources they need to launch innovative and successful companies.
