Kirsten Zuk may be the first artist to make a sculpture of John Lennon that literally contains a piece of the rock icon. Her brother, the 'crazy dentist' who bought the celebrity's tooth at a UK auction last year decided to share a very small piece for the clay tribute to the late Beatle.
"John Lennon gave his tooth to a fan in good spirit so I wanted to do a few things that would raise awareness of the charity Smile Train, so we are asking people that come to view the sculpture at the Kirsten's Art Show this weekend in Edmonton to consider making a donation which helps children with cleft lip and palate.," says Dr. Michael Zuk. He adds, 'The house that Lennon lived in when he had the tooth removed just came up for sale at a reported 15M British pounds, so anything Lennon is almost priceless'.
Dr. Zuk was featured in a media frenzy that included Time Magazine, Anderson Cooper's Ridiculist, Bill O'Reilly, national news and newspapers around the world. He recently wrote a book titled 'John Lennon Tooth' on Blurb.com and is about to release a new book titled 'Celebrity & Professional Marketing' which features many of the celebrities he has worked with. He has also co-designed a John Lennon DNA pendant that will soon be featured in a charity fundraiser in the UK that starts in Liverpool at the famous Beatle hangout 'The Cavern Club'.
'Kirsten Zuk Art' is on FaceBook and offers further details on her art exhibit. The artist can be contacted for an interview at (780) 434-8681.
