Inc. magazine ranked Bronto Software no. 1272 on its sixth annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy-America's independent entrepreneurs. Bronto Software ranks no. 107 in the software category and no. 3 among software companies in NC.

In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2012 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 97 percent. The companies on this year’s list report having created over 400,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $299 billion.
Bronto’s strong growth trajectory was clearly evident in 2011, with a 54% increase in revenue over 2010 and team growth of 40%. As a four-time honoree on the Inc. 5000 list, Bronto has shown impressive 3-year growth of 243%, with revenue increasing from $5 million in 2008 to $17.2 million in 2011.

Methodology
The 2012 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2008. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2011. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2008 is $100,000; the minimum for 2011 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue.
