MARGATE, Fla., Aug. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Colonial Van Lines, in partnership with Goodwill Industries International, held its first-annual Do Good with Goodwill Clothing Drive and successfully delivered over 150 Hefty bags chock-full of clothing. The company's goal was to give those less fortunate an easy way to acquire business attire as they look to hit the job market.

"As a company we are always looking to give back to the community and create different avenues for those that are less fortunate," explained Maria Bottone, Colonial Van Lines' Director of Human Resources. "We hope that this particular event gives people the spark they need to go out and feel comfortable in nice clothing as they get ready to enter the work force."
The company-wide clothing drive was headlined by employees in all departments. Setting up collection bins in each main office, employees generously donated new and gently-used business attire such as shoes, dress shirts, belts, ties, pants and suit jackets. After collecting over 150 bags worth of attire, all of the items were transported to the welcome arms of a Goodwill of South Florida store in Margate, located on 2057 N. State Road 7.
For the moving company, the concept of giving back to the community is nothing new. Just earlier this month, it joined forces with the Community Blood Centers of South Florida to host a successful blood drive to help patients throughout South Florida.
If you're a local company that would like to merge with or sponsor Colonial Van Lines in a future community event, contact Maria Bottone at the human resources department at 888.717.0711 ext. 249.
