MEGA Executive Will Speak on IT in Business Transformation at Berlin Conference

MEGA, a leader in enterprise architecture (EA) will demonstrate a new solution for application portfolio management (APM) at the IT Transformation conference in Berlin September 25-26.

Peter Brünenberg, vice president of MEGA’s German, Austrian, and Swiss operations, will speak about how companies are driving business and IT transformation through APM initiatives. He will discuss ways for organizations to achieve success in business performance by creating revolutionary APM programs that drive effective change.

Additional conference speakers will look at the critical role of information technology in business performance and discuss how IT transformation can be a fundamental change that propels companies into lower-cost, business-oriented organizations.

APM has become an important means to manage large complex groups of applications that evolve through business success, merger, or acquisition. After many years, when company knowledge about applications lapses, many applications are redundant, underutilized, outdated, or unnecessary for current business needs, and are expensive and time consuming to maintain and difficult to modernize.

The MEGA APM solution helps companies create an organized, consistent view of the application portfolio to aid in relevant, cost-effective decisions on application retirement or upgrades. It stores all application information (functions, relationships, dependencies) in one “single source of truth” repository. Enterprise architects and IT teams can then evaluate this centralized information, analyzing possible scenarios for portfolio change, including cost evaluation and effects on business units.

Universal Music Group, the world’s largest music content company, said it selected MEGA to help streamline IT operations to meet industry and market challenges. The company chose MEGA to implement the method and tools for its APM program, based on a common, shared information repository.
