NEW YORK, Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Jewish Committee (AJC) praised the Democratic Party for restoring to the party platform a statement recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

"Whatever was the reason for omitting Jerusalem, the Democratic Party did the right thing today, moving quickly to reaffirm its longstanding recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital," said AJC Executive Director David Harris.
