CHANTILLY, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/06/12 -- AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a government IT services provider and one of the top 100 employee-owned companies in the U.S., today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Test & Evaluation (T&E) business unit from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). The transaction is expected to close by mid-October.

The strategic acquisition will complement AMERICAN SYSTEMS' current T&E capabilities and bolster key T&E resources to enable the company to perform a wider range of services to include testing, scientific, engineering, logistic, administrative, and ancillary support of its customers' T&E missions.

Under the terms of the agreement, approximately 300 SAIC personnel will join AMERICAN SYSTEMS' Human Capital & Managed Services group (HCMS), led by VP/GM Jason Frye.
