HERO VS is a software-only virtual appliance based on Media Excel’s award winning video transcoding product line.

Even though cloud-based VoD transcoding services have been around for a few years already, HERO VS is the only platform that delivers Live and VoD transcoding in the cloud. The unique range of input options that HERO VS offers allows for the ingestion of high-quality, packet-loss-free source feeds for both live and VoD use cases. It also supports ad insertion, graphic overlays, encryption/DRM and CDN Publishing. Further HERO VS scales automatically based on available CPU and Memory resources. This allows for rapid deployment of transcoding services on demand for both file and live transcoding. HERO VS integrates seamlessly with NMS and CMS platforms through popular integration hooks such as SNMP, HTTP, SOAP and XML. Also, HERO VS is fully compatible with HMS, Media Excel’s award-wining management platform and can also be deployed in a distributed, geographically-dispersed architecture in order to better utilize network resources.

HERO VS has already been deployed with major Delivery Networks and Content Aggregators in USA and Europe and has performed exceptionally in coping with the dynamic business nature of those organizations.
