New Jersey Board of Pharmacy Unanimously Approves Asteres' ScriptCenter for 24/7 Prescription Pickup

Asteres Inc., the industry’s leading provider of 24/7 automated pharmacy kiosks in retail, hospital, and Veteran’s Affairs/Department of Defense (VA/DoD) pharmacies announced today that the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy approved the use of ScriptCenter for 24/7 prescription pickup in hospitals and healthcare facilities.

The New Jersey Board of Pharmacy has been closely monitoring the ScriptCenter pilot at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a member of Meridian Health, in Neptune, New Jersey. After presenting findings the Board voted unanimously to approve the usage of ScriptCenter for delivery of all prescriptions even when the pharmacy is closed. The approval allows for Meridian to expand their usage into other sites within the state and additional hospitals to submit pilot requests.

Hospitals like JSUMC are installing ScriptCenter to provide a quick and convenient prescription drop-off and pick-up service to hospital employees, especially those who work when the pharmacy is closed.

“We are so excited to have 24/7 prescription pickup in our suite of team member services,” said Robert Schenk, Manager of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services. “Now our third shift team members will have the same access to the hospital’s in-house pharmacy and all team members can quickly drop off and pick up prescriptions at their convenience. ScriptCenter allows us to better service our team members and grow our pharmacy without having to increase our labor costs.”

How it works:
1) Employees enroll for ScriptCenter (one-time) to create a unique ID and PIN
2) Employees Order prescriptions as usual
3) Pharmacy fills prescriptions as usual and loads into ScriptCenter
4) Employees pick up and pay for prescriptions at ScriptCenter… anytime
