NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 09/12/12 -- Park Avenue Funding (PAF) announced today that in pursuing its lawsuit against Profile Defenders and its principals, which was announced on July 16th, it has been unable to find valid addresses for either Profile Defenders or its principals. The company claims to operate locations in New York City and Ft. Lauderdale, yet valid addresses in these cities are not listed online or on their website. Officially filed addresses with the Florida Secretary of State have proven to be fictitious, calling into question Profile Defenders' motives.
In the lawsuit, PAF asserted that it hired Profile Defenders to help it manage its internet reputation. According to the suit, Profile Defenders, rather than assisting PAF, used confidential information that PAF provided to it to blackmail PAF in an attempt to extort money from them with threats to further damage their online reputation. PAF filed the lawsuit to illustrate the dangers of providing confidential information to unknown "web companies" who claim to do "reputation cleanup" or otherwise monitor your "internet presence."
