LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/13/12 -- Today Phoenix Software International announced the upcoming release of Version 5, Release 2.0 of (E)JES®, its z/OS® JES2 and JES3 interactive spool browse and system management product. This release will be generally available on September 28, 2012.

New with this release are two JES network displays, Network Connections and Network Servers. The Network Connections display gives information about network connections to an adjacent node, including BSC NJE lines, NJE over SNA, and TCP/IP socket connections, as well as associated receivers and transmitters. The Network Server display shows information about network servers, including NETSERV devices and BDT instances.

Other significant enhancements include:

• Installation option parameters - Administrators can now specify options through a parmlib member rather than a macro. This represents another big step toward removing assembly-language coding from product administration and customization.
  
  
• Smart help pop-ups - Pop-up help now explains the contents of certain columns, for instance abend codes in the MaxComp column. This feature makes users more productive by minimizing the need to look things up in a manual or on the Internet.
  
  
• New Creation Date, Creation Time and Age columns - These new columns on job and output displays allow for better filtering and scripted post-processing based on the age of output.
  
  
• Other performance and usability improvements - Numerous other enhancements help customers save money and be more productive.
