TOKYO, Sept. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- American Apparel, the vertically integrated clothing manufacturer based in downtown Los Angeles, is announcing its participation in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO 2013 S/S.
American Apparel's participation celebrates the brand's seventh anniversary in Japan. The event will take place at Shibuya Hikarie, the official venue of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO 2013 S/S.
"We wanted to do something new this year and Tokyo is a city that is very open-minded to new, creative ideas, particularly when it comes to fashion. We are honored to be one of the first brands without an appointed designer to show at a high-profile Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week like this," said Katherine Johnson, American Apparel's Japan operations manager.

"Japan is an exciting market for us right now and we have a recent track record of successful collaborations. We're continuing to try new things to expand the brand and Fashion Week is the perfect place to do that," Johnson said.
