Artmosphere Studio is a proud supporter of Beads of Courage, Levitt said, adding that the lampworked glass beads made and donated will be Acts of Courage Beads which are very special & highly prized!

"The glass beads made and donated by the artists and volunteers go into the hands of children coping with cancer and serious illness in the Beads of Courage program right here in Alaska and at 150 other hospitals," Pearson explained. "By supporting Beads of Courage we get to help children mark milestones and tell the story of their treatment journey with beads that represent each procedure they undergo."

The September 15 National Beads of Courage Challenge Day is dedicated to making beads that are given to help children coping with serious illness record, tell and own their story of courage.  The handmade beads are used in the Beads of Courage Program that is a form of narrative medicine improving the quality of life for more than 30,000 children throughout the United States who receive the program during active treatment for a serious illness.

In honor of National Beads of Courage Bead Challenge Day and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, bead enthusiasts and the public are invited to create their own beaded jewelry and to come and cheer on the artists who make beads for the Beads of Courage Program.
