LONDON, September 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Playtech, the international designer, developer and licensor of software for the online, mobile, TV and land-based gaming industry, is proud to announce a new licensing agreement with Mediaset España, the largest television network in Spain.
According to the agreement, Playtech will provide its entire suite of industry-leading products, which includes casino, poker, mobile, bingo, live dealer games, and TV, all operating under a local gaming license. Given Mediaset España´s expertise in broadcasting, it plans to place a special focus on Playtech's TV product, capitalising on the mass-market appeal of this platform.
This is a particularly strategic step for both parties, as Mediaset España is listed among Spain's 35 strongest companies on the main Spanish stock exchange IBEX 35 with a €1.780M market capitalisation to date. In choosing to sign with Playtech, it joins the gaming industry's leading provider in what is proving to be a tremendously successful market for online gaming.
By signing this agreement, Playtech has positioned itself as a key partner for Mediaset España, launching a new business area designed to complement its already expansive entertainment offer.
Playtech develops unified software platforms and content for the online and land-based gaming industry, together with providing a range of ancillary services such as marketing, hosting and CRM services.
The Group's capabilities enable the delivery of an integrated software or turnkey solution, with players accessing online, broadcast, mobile and server-based gaming terminals through a single account.
New licensees include existing online operators upgrading or diversifying their offering, land-based casino groups, government sponsored entities such as lotteries, and new entrants making their online gaming debut, particularly in newly-regulated markets.
Founded in 1999, Playtech has some 2,000 employees located in development centres in five countries, the majority of whom are engaged in research and development of current and future gaming technologies.
