SAN FRANCISCO, CA and LA JOLLA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/20/12 -- W2O Group, an independent integrated global communications network, today announced the creation of a strategic partnership with LiquidGrids Inc. This partnership will focus on creating new analytic models and tools that map the disease pathway of online patient communities.
"We have a simple goal to focus on changing how we target and communicate to patients and providers via vastly improved analytics and insights," said Bob Pearson, W2O Group president. "Said another way, the days of large DTC (direct to consumer) spending with questionable ROI (return on investment) are ending. Physicians and patients meet in the doctor's office to determine how to best combat their disease and disorder at most 12 times per year. We have 353 days where we can and should provide additional value that will transform health."
The partnership will lead to new products that outline multiple disease pathway models and provide a range of ways to target and interact, appropriately, at each stage. The first products will enter the market this fall. W2O Group and LiquidGrids expect to leverage and combine these new products with those of other partners, such as Sharecare, as part of W2O's Sharecare Now offering.
"Our team will now be able to develop new disease pathway models that show how language, content and needs evolve so we can help our clients provide the right support at the right time to the right people online," said Jim Weiss, founder and CEO of W2O Group. "Analytics is ready to do its part to transform health, in partnership with providers and patients and their families," added Weiss, who will join the board of LiquidGrids.
WCG and Twist Mktg, W2O Group companies, conduct daily listening for well over 100 brands in the healthcare marketplace today across pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology and health technology and services.
LiquidGrids was created by founder and CEO Malcolm Bohm, who has previously helped build and sold several companies in the healthcare space, including Aspreva and Trialytics. LiquidGrids software turns a relatively massive collection of healthcare dialogue into relevant strategic data through the development of customized grids. These grids can be focused around specific diseases, by symptoms, diagnoses, treatment modalities, procedures, or any combination of factors that are relevant to a specific client.
"Our goal is to combine our analytics talent and create solutions that will change how companies reach patients and providers, reinvent how we select investigator sites and clinicians, for example, and continue to make it easier to provide meaningful value," said Bohm. "With nearly 100 million people in health-related conversations every day, we have plenty of opportunity to improve reach and relevance for today's organizations and health communities of all types."
