DirectPhotonics Industries GmbH, a cutting edge provider of ultra-high brightness direct diode laser solutions for material processing, announced today it has appointed Dr. Stefan Heinemann as Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Heinemann brings to the company more than 20 years of Engineering and R&D experience, including more than 14 years, as Director, responsible for the Fraunhofer USA - Center for Laser Technology (CLT), in Plymouth, Michigan where he was leading laser development programs for new cost effective production technologies and established a cooperation program between Fraunhofer CLT and the University of Michigan in the field of Clean Transportation, including research on High Energy Batteries and their Manufacturing, and Advanced Super-Capacitors.
In his new role, Dr. Heinemann will lead ongoing development and advancement of DirectPhotonic’s unique patented ultra-high brightness direct diode laser technology platform. “Dr. Heinemann has a strong track record of successfully building and leading high performance R&D organizations. Prior to joining DirectPhotonics, and Fraunhofer USA – CLT, Dr. Heinemann held numerous senior engineering, and R&D management positions including at Jenoptik. He holds 50 patents and has more than 150 published works.
