ALEKS Corporation, a leading provider of web-based learning and assessment solutions for mathematics, science, and business courses, today announced that the Georgia State Board of Education has approved select ALEKS K-12 mathematics courses for inclusion on the state’s list of 2012 State Recommended Learning Resources.
The 2012 State Recommended Learning Resources list provides suggested learning resources for use in Georgia’s public schools. The goal of the list is to provide school systems with a variety of learning resources to choose from for each subject area, ensuring that the recommended core instructional materials have been thoroughly reviewed and represent the highest quality of instructional materials to benefit students.
With the approval of ALEKS as a 2012 State Recommended Learning Resource, more schools will be able to implement the program and more students will be able to experience its individualized learning and assessment that creates dramatic learning outcomes in mathematics.
“ALEKS is an outstanding program and my students’ test scores and grade level performance prove it! For the past two years, my class has used ALEKS and we have led the district in math scores,” said Charles Stubbs, a teacher at Luella Elementary School in Locust Grove. “I want my students to be successful and feel confident and that is what I get with ALEKS.”
Using artificial intelligence and adaptive questioning, ALEKS identifies precisely what a student knows and doesn’t know within a course. Through truly individualized instruction on the exact topics the student is most ready to learn, ALEKS targets gaps in knowledge and enables immediate success in learning new material. ALEKS also offers comprehensive coverage of the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS) and offers robust progress monitoring for teachers and administrators.
The following ALEKS courses have been approved by the Georgia State Board of Education for use by schools in the state:
