There is no guidebook to life, but there is one to the M2M (machine-to-machine) and connected-devices market: the CW 100 (formerly M2M 100). Today, Connected World magazine announced the 100 companies that earned a spot on its distinguished list for 2013.
Published since 2003, this list is the definitive directory when it comes to the most important and influential providers in M2M and connected devices. The list represents the top companies demonstrating significant market traction and pursuing game-changing technologies in connectivity as determined by the editors of Connected World and its editorial advisory board.
While two-thirds of the companies on the 2013 CW 100 have been named to the list more than five times, nearly 25% of the 2013 firms are newcomers. Given the fast-paced nature of the industry, it is no wonder each year’s ranking looks different.
“The CW 100 provides a one-of-a-kind snapshot of the movers and shakers in today’s M2M and connected-devices marketplace,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Connected World magazine. “Perhaps even more importantly, this year, the editorial team and its advisory board chose 100 companies we think you’ll want to do business with in 2013.”
Companies appearing on the CW 100 are chosen from a selection of hundreds of firms, both private and publicly traded. Criteria for selection include: sales and earnings growth, contribution to the connected-devices space, and innovation in multiple markets served during the past 12 months.
